As with digital photography, digital x-rays can be manipulated on monitors to adjust exposure and contrast for the most accurate image of conditions in their earliest stages.

Digital images are stored in the digital chart for easy comparison of bone levels and changes in tooth structure from one dental visit to the next.

We prioritise patient safety. Digital dental x-rays emit up to 80 per cent less radiation than traditional x-rays, making them among the safest for medical use.

Capturing a three-dimensional image of the jawbone, joints, teeth and sinuses is invaluable when it comes to surgical procedures such as dental implant placement and extractions. Having a high-resolution, 3-D image provides our dentists with the information necessary to place dental implant screws in an ideal location with adequate bone to support the load of chewing.

In the case of dental extractions, 3-D cone beam images help our team identify curved roots and adjacent teeth that can impact how we proceed with extractions.

Not only do many patients find sticky impression paste distasteful, especially if they have a gag reflex that makes bulky impression material feel uncomfortable. Additionally, distortions, air bubbles and flaws in impression material can negatively impact the accuracy of a final restoration. 

As an alternative, we use a 3-D scanner to capture the size and shape of the tooth to guide fabrication of accurate restorations that fit and function correctly.

Paper charts are difficult to navigate and leave personal information exposed. Digital records are securely stored on our servers under encryption. Having all of your dental information available at the click of a button makes for easy reference when it comes to updating medical history, comparing x-rays over time and periodontal charting to detect gum disease and recession.

Educating patients is an essential aspect of our core practice philosophy. Describing oral conditions verbally to our patients is only so effective, but showing actual photographs of the inside of the mouth using an intraoral camera allows patients to see exactly what we see.

Intraoral cameras also provide us with documentation for insurance claims and to share information with specialists.

Using laser energy to alter soft tissue provides a more comfortable solution over traditional surgery. Lasers both reshape and seal tissue, improving healing times and patient comfort.
